Elements of the essay.
 
Before you do anything

It is important to have a clear idea of what you are attempting to do in your essay. You should write down your idea. This will be the topic of your essay. Remember, you are not going to just discuss something. That is not the purpose of an essay. An essay requires you  to prove, explain, convince, persuade, compare, etc, something to your audience. It is most important that everything you write in your essay support and relate to your topic.

You can write your topic on a separate piece of paper.

 
Create a title for your essay. Decide on something that will your audience interested in reading your essay. the reader interested in
l. Title
Next, comes the introduction to your essay
ll.  Introduction (paragraph)
  • Introduce what your essay is about.
  • Include in your introduction three main points which you will use to support what you are trying to get across: Point 1,
    Point 2, Point 3.
In the next section, the body, you will go into some detail about each of the three main points you mentioned in your introduction. Have a separate paragraph for each point.
IIl. Body (paragraphs)
  • Paragraph 1 = Point 1
  • Paragraph 2 = Point 2
  • Paragraph 3 = Point 2
Last write a conclusion paragraph to your essay.
IV. Conclusion (paragraph)

Summarize what you have said in your essay. Leave the reader with a feeling that you have said what you needed to and that you have successfully ended your essay.
